E-Governanace

IDCO has taken up complete computerization of all the major activities of the Corporation under the guidance of Director, IIIT. The Corporation has a strong IT infrastructure comprising of good number of desktop computers, laptop computers, servers, printers and network equipment. Electronics Mailing System has been adopted for the internal correspondences with the Divisions. The following are the major steps taken up for computerization of the Corporation.

1. Centralized Database Management

A Centralized Database Management System has been set up. An integrated software package in Oracle 10g covering the major activities of the Corporation has been implemented. All the Divisions access Database Server located in Head Office through RDP for their day to day work.

2. Virtual Private Network (VPN)

For safety and speed of transaction, all the 14 out-stationed Divisions have been connected with Head Office through Virtual Private Network.

3. e-Procurement

In line with the decision of Government of Odisha, e-Tendering System has been introduced in IDCO with the help of IT Department, Government of Odisha, NIC, Bhubaneswar and the e-Procurement Cell, Government of Odisha. All the tenders above Rs. 50,000,00.00 are put to e-Tendering.

4. e-Despatch

An e-Despatch System has been introduced. All the correspondences from Head Office to the Divisions are made through e-Despatch System. Hopefully, all the correspondences will be done through e-Despatch System, wherever possible, very shortly.

5. Project Management System

A Planning & Monitoring System has been developed using Primavera. With this system, all the construction projects as well as acquisition/alienation of land for major projects can be managed and monitored.

6. Geographic Information System (GIS)

Geographical Information System has been developed for digitization of maps and for management of Industrial Estates database.

7. Web-enabled ID Management System

A web-enabled Industrial Estate Management system in Oracle has been developed and implemented.

8. Land Management System

A software package in Oracle 10g has been developed for management of acquisition/alienation of land.

9. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

A plan is afoot to introduce a full-fledged ERP solution for all the activities of the Corporation for which preliminary steps have already been taken.
